Looking into it, there are a bunch of parameters with comments relating to "improved performance", so I changed them around a bit, and started up the game, but found that the game immediately rewrites this files when it is launched, providing default parameters. I was looking through the game files for a config file of any sort, and came across nfig.
On another note, I did manage to get the game to run at about 30fps, so anyone who is having similar troubles, you may want to try this, if it's worth it to you. Usually, I can manage to get games to a playable state by turning down EVERYTHING,however this game doesn't provide any advanced options for graphics, so I would humbly request to the devs, could you please consider putting some in, for example, resolution, antialising, texture filtering, shadow, reflection, view distance etc. My rig is pretty outdated in terms of hardware so I was expecting bad performance, but this is much worse than I was thinking.
Playing this game on low settings (which doesn't seem to change anything at all really) I'm still stuck at 5fps averagely which is no good.
